Display corruption from fresh install

Bug Description

I've just performed an upgrade (format/reinstall) of Dapper flight 6, and upon booting I've had massive graphics problems - parts of the screen aren't redrawn, and most windows appear with only their frame. As it is, the system is unusable with these graphics problems.

I'll attach a screenshot as well as my Xorg.0.log, xorg.conf and dmesg output. I've tried a few parameters in xorg.conf to try and fix things but nothing has had any affect. Interestingly, xserver-xgl doesn't have the same problem (but is slow, and so I am using it as a workaround).

My xorg.conf - I have added the PageFlip and BackingStore options to see if it made any difference - nope!

I logged in, went through each of the menus, then dragged about a bit on the desktop. I then hit Print Screen, smeared that round a bit, before hitting enter to save.

Just some further info:
- This is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 laptop
- No display corruption if driver is changed to 'vesa' in xorg.conf
- I've done an apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
- This wasn't happening an hour ago under my Breezy install!

I remember seeing similar bugs closed recently. It should not do like that on Feisty, you could try (Herd5 or a daily livecd) and reopen if you still get display corruption.
