Bug Description

Using GNU Emacs, /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50ess.el gives an error while loading. I have tried to debug the error without any success. Then I have tried to byte-compile /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/ess/ess-site.el, however, it produces the following error:

Should I fill a bug report[2] in Debian?

I did a few tests and ESS seems to work OK, so I have no idea why emacs says: "Loading 50ess (source)... Loading mule-util...done Error while loading 50ess" in *Messages* on startup.

I have installed version 5.2.11-1 from somewhere (sorry, I cannot remember now, probably from http://packages.ubuntu.com ). And I don't get that message now. I guess it is fixed. :)
