Bug Description

When a buddy starts talking to me, the message window appears but doesn't gain the focus, so the window appears behind the other windows.

It might be related to Bug #31487, but Gaim is not launched by gksudo...

This is almost certainly caused by gnome's focus stealing prevention.

This is almost certainly due to the current metacity focus selection. To be honest I prefer it the way it currently is because there's nothing like going to type a password into a dialog and then IMing the password to someone else instead...

Since this is the intended behaviour, I'm changing status to rejected. If you feel strongly about the matter, I would suggest discussing it upstream (probably with Metacity devs) . Thanks for taking the time to file a bug report.

Changed in gaim:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected
