Bug Description

The icon located at scalable/places/start-here.svg is 374KB. It has been opened in Adobe Illustrator, and it saves a rediculous amount of metadata in the file.

This is a fixed version of the file, without large amounts of metadata.

I did that one in inkscape, starting from the ubuntu logo, which perhaps generate the problem. Thanks for reporting and for the fix.

Yes, the Ubuntu logo was created in Adobe Illustrator, so that's why the file is as large as that.

That icon don't have any metadata at all now though. It's nice to be able to see stuff like author, license and stuff.

The original file didn't have much data on author, but what it did have was enormous amounts of JPEG data embedded into it.

I see that this is still not fixed for 0.8-0ubuntu1.

I'm still not sure why the Ubuntu icon was created with Adobe as opposed to a free software application. All that needs fixed is the JPEG thumbnails in the file need removed.
