Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

I can't connect with my e156g USB Modem, but with my USB Modem e170 works fine. I even deactivated pin but still doesn't work.

tried to reproduce the steps in the wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager) but some does not work:

sudo /lib/udev/nm-modem-probe --verbose --export /sys/class/tty/ttyUSB0
L: main(): (/sys/class/tty/ttyUSB0): usb-vid 0x0000 usb-pid 0x0000 usb-intf 0 driver '(null)'
L: main(): probing /sys/class/tty/ttyUSB0

sudo /lib/udev/nm-modem-probe --verbose --export /sys/class/tty/ttyUSB1
L: main(): (/sys/class/tty/ttyUSB1): usb-vid 0x0000 usb-pid 0x0000 usb-intf 0 driver '(null)'
L: main(): probing /sys/class/tty/ttyUSB1

after some debugging with asac help I figure out to put this modem working :-)

for reference I added this PPA: https://edge.launchpad.net/~network-manager/+archive/ppa
and deleted the connection that I had and used the connection wizard to create a new connection. Some modems needs to have user and passwd filled, any will do. And some need the right APN.

Changed in network-manager (Ubuntu):
