Bug Description

Hello!

I'm useing my old /home directory, under Dapper AMD64, and when I login the first application running is the gaim. But nothing else, I can close the gaim, then start the system starting, and runing correctly, and the gaim start again but is correct for now. But is it a litle bit strange. (And my english too)

Thanks for your bug. Your description is not clear. What does happen and what would you expect instead of it?

Hello!

So I write my account, and then my password, then hit enter. But now not
start the system startup, just the Gaim starting. I kill the Gaim, and
then start the correct system starting. (loading gnome, and etc.)

I can imagine something like this happening if your ~/.xinitrc file is something like "gaim ; gnome-session" for example.

Or when gaim is too early in the session.

kanyi,

Could you please check to see if you .xinitrc file has gaim set to start before gnome-session, or if in System->Preferences->Sessions, gaim is listed in the "Startup Programs" list?

Please let us know. If this not a problem for you any longer, and you figured out the reason why it happened, let us know, so we can do the right thing with this bug report.

Thank you.

Hi!

So, when I loged on and the gnome started first, (after the system stand
up).
I was create a file for my home directory: .preferences or .profile?
(sorry this was another computer on the University and I'm not there any
more). And these file is a standard auto start file, for the linux
systems. I create a line for these file: gaim. Then the gaim started
before anything else can starting. I can close this for Ctrl-Q (but
nothing else) and then booting my user profile.

Later I create line, the Startup Program list, then the Gaim is started
twice, but the second start is the correct time, and place. AND then
vhem I updateing my sytem to Dapper Drake, the problem is gone, and the
.profile file is working correctly. And for now I can't reply the
problem. And I can't use the computer, which create the problem. (oh it
was a AMD46 bit processor, I think is 2000+)

I'm so sorry but this is all, I remember. :-(

Hi kanyi,

Thank you for getting back with your comment.
I am rejecting this bug now since it does not seem like the system failed, but was in fact caused by misconfiguration.
If you face any bugs in the future, please report them.
