Bug Description

The option "Reveal in file manager" should not only open nautilus in the correct folder, but also highlight the chosen file in nautilus. Currently, if the folders contains 200 files (which is common for a document folder), I have to locate the file by hand, which is overkill and defeats the purpose of using beagle.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu is that? Where is that "Reveal in file manager" option? What software do you use? Are you sure that's a nautilus issue?

Sorry for the ambiguity. :-)

I am using Dapper. I am talking about the program "beagle-search". If you right-click in a file in that window, you have the option to open the file, or to "reveal" it in nautilus. The latter opens nautilus in the correct fodler but does not scroll down and highlight the file in that folder.

I believe this is a Nautilus issue because the Beagle authors themselves said so in Beagle's mailing list. They said Nautilus is lacking a command line option to open a folder and highlight a specific file in that folder.

Seems a feature request rather than a bug so, updating the settings according to that. Do you have a pointer to the upstream discussion?
