nautilus-sendto crashes when .evolution is symlinked

Bug Description

nautilus-sendto crashes with

  Init evolution plugin
  Init gaim plugin
  Init bluetooth plugin

** ERROR **: failed to open local addressbook

  aborting...

when the .evolution dir is a symlink to a non-existing dir (being a symlink to a crypto loop dir on my system and therefore not always mounted).
It works though when there is no .evolution dir at all.
Would be nice if that was possible.

Thanks for your bug report. Could this be a duplicate of bug 41915? Do you still have the problem? Which version do you use?

The error is still there. I doubt that it is the same as bug 41915 since the reporter tested with and without .evolution. I only get the error when .evolution is a there but links to a non-existant place.

nautilus-sendto:
  Installiert:0.5-0ubuntu4
  Mögliche Pakete:0.5-0ubuntu4
  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 0.5-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com dapper/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

(By now I'm not using evolution anymore. I think it is not suited very well for the general desktop user, I think it is way too heavy and unintuitive. Maybe in the future ubuntu might feature a combination of a small mail client and extra adressbook and calendar?)

Can you try to get a backtrace of the crash? (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace or past the output of the bug-buddy dialog.)

I'm sorry, not at the moment as I updated to edgy. nautilus-sendto is now 0.7-2ubuntu6 and does not have that bug anymore. Maybe I can try at another dapper machine if I run into one. But I guess you can easily reproduce it yourself. Just create .evolution as a symlink that points to a non-existing directory. Then running nautilus-sendto will crash.

if that works fine on edgy marking as fixed. Feel free to reopen if you get the issue again on edgy
