ipod shuffle not detected on Dapper

Bug Description
Fully up to date dapper is not detecting the ipod shuffle which was working a treat under breezy.
Nothing in /var/messages. Did a tail -f and plugged/unplugged but no reaction.
The same usb is working fine with a disgo usb stick ...

Where is it not found? In nautilus, i.e. by hal? Or in banshee? I ask because libipoddevice/ipod are only used by banshee and nothing else
