May you please state why the addition of this new package should get
considered?

With it, emesene supports Webcam (video conference) through MSN.

It's not a required package, but lots of users will love you if you approve it :) (and since it's the first day of FF...)

What kind of testing have you done with this package? Is it stable? What
about its bugs?

It's been tested for a long time in emesene (it's shipped inside the upstream tarball too), but we don't like code copies so I prepared a patch for libmimic to build the bindings directly from the library.

+1 from me, but only if you can convince an archive admin to new it (shouldn't
been too hard, I guess, since it already went through debian's new).

Ack from me for killing off code duplication (this isn't really new code, so I think it's OK). I'll do the archive-admin review too, so it's OK from that perspective too.

OK, I'm inclined to accept it but first I'd like to hear the opinion of
another release
member.

Package is missing the link to common-licensed in debian/copyright. You might as well fix that and upload the changed version directly.

As commented on IRC, it's there, just a bit hidden :)

Open a new bug report for new bugs, don't still others. Also the installation
error should go in a different bug than the webcam stopping working, and add any
relevant logs to your bug reports.

I've done more tests. The client I tested with Windows live 9 and when my webcam is fine, until I receive the Customer webcam windows live 9, with squares is my webcam.
By installing python-libmimic in the console installation reports errors but the package is installed by eliminating it.
With customers windows live webcam 8.5 shuts down after a few seconds.
