Eclipse is missing required dependencies and will not install

Bug Description

When trying to install the package "eclipse" through synaptic using Karmic alpha 4 I get:

eclipse:
 Depends: eclipse-jdt but it is not going to be installed
 Depends: eclipse-pde but it is not going to be installed
 Depends: eclipse-source but it is not going to be installed
 Recommends: eclipse-gcj but it is not going to be installed

Both the sun-Java6-jre and sun-java6-jdk are installed.

All the required dependencies are in the Karmic archive and install with no problem here. This is either some specific configuration problem on your system or there is additional detail needed to explain what the issue is that you are trying to report.

From a clean install of Jaunty I did an update to karmic through -d

If I try to selected eclipse-gcj for installation it also refuses to do so stating:
_Could not mark all packages for installation or upgrade_
The following packages have unresolved dependecies. Make sure that all required repositories are added and enabled in the preferences.

eclipse-gcj:
 Depends: eclipse but is not going to be installed
 Depends: eclipse-jdt-gcj but is not going to be installed
 Depends: eclipse-pde-gcj but is not going to be installed
 Depends: eclipse-platform-gcj but is not going to be installed
 Depends: eclipse-rcp-gcj but is not going to be installed
 Depends libswt3.2-gtk-gcj but is not going to be installed

I can install other packages that has dependencies without any problem. I have tried to enable and disable various repositories but nothing works.

The gcj has been deprecated and hence eclipse can not be installed.
