Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv

The first tuning of any channel with analog tv fails, only after switching the channel it works.

The fix from this

http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/5744

fixes this issue for me.

I'm running karmic with 0.22.0~trunk21556-0ubuntu1

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythtv and Mythbuntu. The upstream mythtv bug that you mention (5744) contains a comment which seems to imply that the fix does not work properly for 0.22. If you believe that to not be the case, you might consider re-opening that ticket (and also please comment back here if that is correct). Having said that, that bug comment also seemed to express a reluctance to do anything on the mythtv source side about this because it is perceived to be a bug with the V4L drivers.

Hi,

I'm applying the fix to the 0.22 release and it works fine there. I commented on the bug (but can't reopen it as this seems not to be possible) and also sent an email to the mailing list but got no reaction whatsoever.

The issue is now also submitted for the kernel

And I also created a new issue in the mythtv tracker

As upstream has indicated that they won't be accepting this patch, I'm going to mark it as Won't fix in Ubuntu/Mythbuntu as well.

We try to avoid deviating from upstream in any large regard, so sorry for the inconvenience.
