Bug Description

When you delete items, they go to ~/.Trash alright, but they are not visible in the Gnome's Trash applet. I can see them in
ls ~/.Trash

but not if I click on "Trash" on the bottom right corner of the screen.

I can confirm this bug. One can move items to the trash can in lower right corner of desktop panel, but when you mouse over the trash can it says "No items in Trash". Clicking on the Trash can opens the nautilus trash file browser, which does not show any items and the empty trash option is greyed out.

Finally, I must add that I prefer the old trash can icon, the new one does not look like a trash can to me.

interestingly, flight7 livecd has this bug as well, while if you install ubuntu using the flight 7 livecd, the installed system doesn't have this problem.
