Bug Description

If I insert my Audigy card, in GNOME, I recieve three pop-ups each with "New audio playback device detected" as the title. However, I've only inserted one device.

Only six months later! This is still the case on the final release of Edgy, by the way.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook [CardBus] card (see the bug title), and am running on a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop.

I suspect that Ubuntu detecting three devices with the card has something to do with it having three ports. That's just speculation, so someone with more expertise may be able to collaborate on this and possibly suppress the second and third popup.

I don't think this is a bug in the kernel. Rather a bug in gnome-settings-daemon, or whatever application is watching for new sound cards.
