Bug Description

SW: Kubuntu up-to-date, using autologin+autolock KDM option

Since yesterday's update, I get flashing screen during auto-login. This seems to be caused by exchanging login splash image and black screen. Before that, autologin was just done without splash and I just ended with password unlock dialog.

I suspect this regression is caused by this update: kdebase-workspace 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu3, as I have found the following in the the changelog:
Jonathan Riddell
Add kubuntu_96_pre_kdm_xsplash.diff for https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuKarmicXsplash

Yes, same here, without autologin enabled works fine.
And this happens with 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu3, with 0ubuntu2 there isn't problem with autologin.

Is this still a problem with 0ubuntu4? The new KDM stuff is now disabled for autologin situations.
