Bug Description

Current version in karmic is 1.9.9 released in June. Since then several new releases and current version is 1.9.12.
Since using development build, should have latest version of the dev build. More bugs and stability fixes.

Debian is using version 1.9.12, so should be easy update.

I do subscribe to this bug/wishlist. Gnumeric is my main spreadsheet application and the version currently shipping in Karmic is very unstable. Updating to version 1.9.12 should solve many of the bugs.

The newest version is 1.9.14 now and it seems that they solved quite a lot of bugs since version 1.9.9. I hope there will be a way to update gnumeric to the latest version before Ubuntu 9.10 is out.

It's not quite that easy. The deadline for getting new upstream versions in was in August. Additionally newer gnumeric requires newer goffice. These seem like hardly the kinds of changes we want to make just a couple days before the final freeze.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Lucid Lynx. The latest stable release of Gnumeric, 1.10.0-1ubuntu1, has been placed in Lucid.

This might be a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in previous versions of Ubuntu, please do steps 1 and 2 of the SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.
