Binary package hint: gnome

Under Places -> Recent Documents there is a list of your recently opened documents. There is also a "Clear Recent Documents" option. I've never used that option, but from time to time I notice my list gets cleared.

Same here -- more or less.
After I boot up my computer all I have in "recent documents" is the option to clear the list. Therefore I have no choice but open Nautilus and open my documets from there -- but after I open one document, the "recent documents" list gets populated with the last documents I opened in my last session.

I'm pretty sure this problem started around the same time when Adrian Moisey reported it (2 weeks ago).

The same happens to me since breezy.

The recent documents gets populated after you open a file from nautilus.

In a ltsp server with dapper, the list is cleared again after some time until you open some file again. In this case I'm using a nfs mount as home for the users.

Same here, and I must say this bug goes way back. I remember having the same bug on Debian before Ubuntu 5.04 was released.

Same here. Sometimes, the Recent documents list is cleared, and it goes back when a new item is added in it by the system.

I experience the same problem. When logging in the recent documents list is empty. After opening a document via nautilus the list is again filled with the last 10 opened documents.

Working with dapper here....
