Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

There is not an obvious way to close the nautilus search, see "nautilus_search_current.png".

The "Back" button is not a best choice here, because instinctively peoplelook for a "close" possibility, something like "nautilus_search_proposal.png" or "nautilus_search_proposal2.png".
Or probably the best solution would be just to open search results in a new tab :)

Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 6, Nautilus "1:2.27.92-0ubuntu1".
This bug affects all Ubuntu users, it's (hopefully) easy to fix - a real PAPER CUT.

Thank you for your bug report and sending the request upstream, there is no need to open bugzilla wishlists on launchpad too though, you mockup also seems to have some limitation, would closing the banner change the location? in the other case it's weird to still have the search results listed but without the banner, you try to suggest that search is closed while it's still there

The close icon should perform the same action as the back button. Not only the (orange) banner will be removed then, but the whole search view. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

- Fixing this is not going to be as simple as it seems , it needs a complete re-write of search , not a papercut task
For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut.

Don't worry though, this bug has been marked as "Invalid" only in the papercuts project.
