Per the bug reporting guidelines on the bug reporting page:

It does seem like a bug that the mail applet is not handling the case where no keyring exists.

I can't reproduce this particular backtrace, but there is a chance that this bug is fixed in revision 1395. Please add some information about what distribution you use and which version. Does the problem still exist? If you're on Ubuntu, could you test it when a new PPA arrives and give some feedback. Do you use Gnome and the Gnome keyring? Do you have an autologin without entering a password?

Fix committed in rev. 1502.

If the Gnome keyring is not available, Mail applet won't crash anymore. You can still use it but without saving your password.
