Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Ipod video 30g will not mount in 9.04. There are several others who have the same issue and there seems to be no solution. The ipod shows up as a usb mass storage, but if you looking under places within seconds of the Ipod being connected, you will see that it mounts then disappears.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

does no one have a solution for this problem? this is probably the most frustrating thing in the whole world. the one reason i even switched from windows (gag) to ubuntu was because of how well it worked with the ipod but now that it doesn't i'm highly considering windows as my operating system again if this problem can not be fixed.

EddieVedderIsKing - we'll probably need a little more information to see what's going wrong here.

Could you reproduce the problem (by plugging in the iPod, and waiting for the device to appear and disappear), and then attach copies of /var/log/daemon.log, /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog? The output of the 'mount' command would help too.
