date and time applet does not retrieve weather info on startup

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I'm running karmic with all recent updates. On startup, the date and time applet of the gnome-panel never shows the weather. I guess it doesn't retrieve the information, even though I have internet connection right away. Pretty sure that this worked in jaunty, but karmic has long delays before it displays the weather.

Don't know if this is possible to implement, but could the applet check immediately once the internet connection is established for the first time?
