Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

Today's karmic updates broke network manager because it depends on /usr/lib/libnm-glib-vpn.so.0 which is no longer provided by libnm-glib2. It's replaced by /usr/lib/libnm-glib-vpn.so.1.

ln -s /usr/lib/libnm-glib-vpn.so.1 /usr/lib/libnm-glib-vpn.so.0 fixed the problem for now

That fixed my problem until the latest updates with the new ui. Now when I try to left click to see the ui nm-applet crashes.

Here is the debug info->

mrmcq2u@johns-laptop:~$ nm-applet

** (nm-applet:2749): DEBUG: applet_common_device_state_changed

ERROR:applet.c:537:applet_menu_add_items_top_and_fold_sorted_helper: assertion failed: (items)

Its worth noting that if I start nm-applet as sudo then it works but the problem is that it is not started as sudo on system start and as a result it crashes.

I spoke too soon, when I connected to my wireless connection after starting it as root and then left clicked again it crashed.
