Bug Description

Binary package hint: kubuntu-default-settings

The existence of the file /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde-profile/default/share/config/session/kmix_10d8cecf96000111065458100000063760027_1110891555_426100
is basically the BUG :-)

Would be nice if such stuff would not be included.
I don't know what kmix does with that information. It might just
get confused or ignore it.

This file is also present on my computer with version 1:6.06-16 of k-d-s. Thus changing to confirmed.

Tested this a bit further - kmix does not automatically create this file.

I found myself without sound after a reboot - and no way to change it in kmix.

As messy as it is, it seems that this file is needed to run kmix properly. Please reopen if this is not the case.

A session or session id is sth. which should never be included
in a package. There is no OBSERVED bad behavior of kmix.

Sessions should always be created by the software on USAGE never
on INSTALLATION of software.

Then this is a KDE bug (kmix doesn't start without fake session).
Please file a bug for the upstream package. This seems more like
a workaround for a bug, rather than a requirement for kmix.

Ok, then please file a bug against upstream KDE, as suggested.
It might get security related, if sessions become so predictable.
