Missing menu titles in pt_BR without langpack

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

There are three strings which could be translated in live cd, but are only on languagepack (not available on cd, of course): Applications, Places and System.

When in syslinux you choose pt_BR, the icons inside those menus are translated, but not these three strings (see attachment).

Those strings could be on the cd. It wouldn't hurt, and make the visual more polished.

I don't know how it is in other languages, but it's worth taking a look...

Note the "applications" items translated, and the "applications", "places" and "system" strings in english.

Thanks for your bug. The menu entries come from the /usr/share/applications/*.desktop which have translations. The panel menu titles come from the source code and are translated to the .mo which is shipped with the language-package. I'm rejecting the bug since that's not one, having program translated require to have the corresponding language pack installed

Changed in gnome-panel:

status: Unconfirmed → Rejected
