Bug Description

Firefox blocked ubuntu one page on initial load, claiming that it was trying to access a local resource.

A dialog appeared at the top of the page.
1. I clicked options
2. disabled the ABE policy that was blocking it.
3. reload ubuntu one
4. page does not load on error anyhow.

I am not sure how to re-enable the policy (?). so I cannot do any more fact finding.

Hi Stephen,

I'm trying to determine whether this is a bug related to an ABE policy blocking Ubuntu One or that the Ubuntu One web site was not working for you even with the ABE policy disabled. Can you clarify? If it's an ABE policy, then we're not likely going to fix the issue unless it is deemed a security risk.

Thank you,

Joshua

Here's the video that shows noscript blocking access to localhost.

Accessing localhost is required to perform OAuth, therefore ABE with default ruleset will prevent OAuth from working.
The workaround is to disable ABE in NoScript before starting ubuntuone client and during Tomboy sync setup procedure.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu One better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu One since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on the most recent version of Ubuntu. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 440408 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
