Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-i810

I had OpenGL working until recently with one upgrade of xorg drivers. I can't find the problem in the xorg logs, but starting wine gives me this:

i915 DRI driver expected DDX version 1-1.5.x but got version 1.4.1
libGL warning: 3D driver returned no fbconfigs.
libGL error: InitDriver failed
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering

Is there any reason why the updated package didn't use the newer version of DDX?

This chipset is used a lot, shouldn't it just work?

Thanks.

I fought with the same error for about two weeks. Today I've found out how to solve it. I've created a symbolic link into the directory /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/ for files /usr/lib/dri/i915_dri.so and /usr/lib/dri/i810_dri.so.
Now when i run glxinfo it said that direct rendering is enabled and glxgears gives me about 1300/1400 fps.

I hope this may help.

Lelle and Runar: can you please both attach your:

  /etc/apt/sources.lists

files please; this maybe backports related and I want to compare them.

Runars sources.list.

I never used backports. At the moment I'm using an APT cache, but it's the same as the third line.

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper main restricted universe multiverse

Two custom repositories, for testing ifolder and initng, but they're not related. Didn't get any X packages from there.
