Bug Description

Binary package hint: nvidia-glx

Hi,

I've installed 6.06 flight 7 on an Athlon xp-2500+ machine with nvidia nForce2 video adapter.

I ran 'nvidia-glx-config enable' to configure the X server.

xorg.conf was generated as follows:

# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Looks like the bus id was incorrectly set to PCI:0:5:0.
X says that PCI:2:0:0 was found.
Indeed, in lspci output we can see that 2:0:0 is the correct value:

Let me know if you need any help in reproducing this
or testing a fix.

Forgot to mention that the workaround was simply
to comment out the bus id line in xorg.conf.

Looking at the xorg.conf it seems that you had an ATI card before, so the PCI bus ID was referring to that.
