Bug Description

An error occurs during the installation:
'subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1'

And the package can't be removed then.

preinst and lilypond-data.post* scripts need kpsewhich to run. But as tetex-bin is not a dependency any more, kpsewhich might not be there. With the patch, the scripts don't run if kpsewhich can't be found.
Adding tetex-bin as a dependency seems useless, because it's big package, and these scripts are not essential.

Maybe the scripts should be removed ?

This is a non-existent issue for me. lilypond-data installed fine a little over fifteen minutes ago on my copy of Breezy.

Ben: what version? 2.3.6-9~breezy1 is affected for me, 2.2.6-2 is not. It appears that the latter shipped with Breezy and the former is in -updates (or whatever it's called).

This bug prevents apt from installing anything, including tetex-bin or the later package without the bug. If I can't install the patch code, I can think of nothing else but to wipe my hard drive and start over. I am not a programmer, just a lowly end-user--is someone willing to help me install Gauvain Pecentek's code?
