Bug Description

Description:
Playing a particular .mov results in slightly stuttered video, a grey bar beneath the picture and a large black border across the bottom and right hand side. Seeking within the video is also not possible.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download http://ds9a.nl/pdns/balmer.mov
2. Open balmer.mov in totem .

Expected results:
Video to play and no black borders to be visible in windowed mode.

Actual results:
Slightly stuttering video, a grey bar beneath the picture and a large black border across the bottom and right hand side. Audio is fine.

Additional information:
The video plays correctly in xine-ui

I can confirm this... the video stutters, there's a grey bar, there's a large black border and it seems that the audio gets out of sync. seeking is not possible.

This is with the ffmpeg gstreamer plugin, the pitfdll one explodes completely with a segfault.

xine plays it fine... I'll forward this bug upstream

This bug is still present in Gutsy. mplayer seems to handle this just fine but totem-xine displays big black borders around the video and the image is not fluent.

Barry, when you do changes to a bug could you subscribe so you get comments in reaction to your changes? Why did you unset the "Fix Commited" status which is correct there?

Where is this fix committed when there are still two reporters saying the bug still exists? I don't see an upload to Ubuntu with this fix??
