Bug Description

Binary package hint: samba

Thank you for your interest in Ubuntu 9.04
                - the Jaunty Jackalope - released in April 2009.

Attempting to install Wine from the Synaptics package manager resulted in an error stating that Samba3 needed to be replaced with Samba. Upon completion the system stated that Samba failed to install. Wine will not run applications.

Relevant error:

Not replacing deleted config file /etc/samba/smb.conf
Install/upgrade will fail. To recover, please try:
  sudo cp /usr/share/samba/smb.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf
  sudo dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: error processing samba-common (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Setting up ttf-liberation (1.04.93-1) ...
