Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-extensions-more

When I want to install epiphany-extensions-more in Karmic, I receive the message :

epiphany-extensions-more:
Depends: epiphany-extensions (<2.27) but 2.28.0-1 is to be installed

epiphany-extensions and epiphany-browser are both installed with a version >= 2.28.0 so I guess epiphany-extension-more should be upgraded to a more recent version.

I, too, would like to report being affected by this bug. I would not think it would take much to change the depends so that it may install.

I would really like to have some of the extensions working.

Please see bug 529835. This bug will be fixed in Lucid once we sync the new version from debian.

I for one would like to see a fix for this in Karmic rather than waiting til being able to install Lucid (which I usually wait a few weeks after release for there to be a little bit more "testing" by the masses).

Perhaps these changes are too great to be able to backport the work from Lucid. I understand that in many things, Karmic is a transition release to get the foot in the door (e.g. Grub 2, GDM 2, etc) and these will be even better in Lucid and further updates.

I am eagerly waiting for this major 3rd LTS edition :)

With thanks,
Narnie

epiphany-extensions-more in karmic was python based. epiphany-browser does not support python based extensions any more and moved to javascript based extensions. I have synced the new package from debian and this issue is fixed in Lucid. Changing status to Fix Released

Personally, I don't feel a fix is release, because the fix is in an unstable platform in the form of Lucid. No "fix" is available for karmic, which many of us will use until Lucid is official.

Agreed. I'll toss into a PPA and let you know once ready for download. So karmic folks can also use it.
