Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

In evolution, when I add a contact for a person I received email from by right clicking on their address and selecting "Add to Address Book" the address is properly added to my contacts, but the address will not appear in the auto-completion done by Evolution until the address has been further edited.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Receive an email from someone who isn't in your address book.
2. Right click on their address, select "Add to Address Book"
3. Save the contact.
4. Create a new email, and start to type the newly created contact's name/email address, and watch while nothing happens.

If you go to the contacts section and edit the contact, the autocompletion will start to work.

upstream consider it to be the same issue than bug #30843, marking as duplicate on launchpad too then

This is not the same bug though, at least not from what I can tell. The contact don't show up after a restart of Evolution, I actually have to edit the contact before it will show up.

Sorry, I posted that last reply before reading the Gnome bugzilla report, and I see you brought up the same issue.

Also, for further clarification, the contact does show up in the contact list. But only if you scroll to in manually - it won't show up in a search or any autocompletion fields until after the contact has been edited.
