Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Using kubuntu Karmic beta with latest updates, Dolphin work very slow when trying, for example, to rename a file if the information panel is open (F11 in Dolphin to open/close the panel).

I have to mention that I noticed this issue in one of the early alpha releases (I can't recall which one).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Dolphin.
2. Ensure the information panel is active by checking that there is a V in View->Panels->Information.
3. Try to rename a file and notice that the renaming takes time (or try to select a file, it also a bit slow).

I found some openSuse users on the web which also complained about this problem and their solution is to close the information panel.

This solution is not a real one, and this issue should be addressed by the developers.

Seems that a complete refactoring will be made for kde4.4, so it might will be solved then:

Closing bug since it is tracked at KDE anyway, no need to have it here as well.

Changed in kdebase (Ubuntu):
