Bug Description

this morning i'b upgraded my ubuntuone to 1.1.
Finally i've been able to authorize the computer.
So i added about 700MB files to the ubuntone folder.
Started synching but after two hours stopped uploading files with this message in syncdaemon log:

2009-10-20 12:14:14,101 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.Main - NOTE - ---- MARK (state: READY_WITH_NETWORK_WITH_BOTHQ; queues: metadata: 391; content: 1087; hash: 0, fsm-cache: hit=112617 miss=1873

so i restarted ubuntuone application, and now after restarting it just disconnects automatically

the oauth log:

Hi Andrea,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. I'm assigning this to one of our developers so he can take a closer look and follow up with any questions/insights he may have.

Thank you,

Joshua

I've noticed one more strange behaviour:
When trying to connect via the applet, my synchdaemon log, scans the local directory, and when has finished the log says:

2009-10-22 12:08:40,023 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.Main - NOTE - Local rescan finished!
2009-10-22 12:08:40,023 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.Main - INFO - hash queue empty. We are ready!

then the applet disconnects from the the service, and the synchdaemon log says:

2009-10-22 12:10:00,490 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.Main - NOTE - ---- MARK (state: READY_WITH_NETWORK_WITH_BOTHQ; queues: metadata: 393; content: 1088; hash: 0, fsm-cache: hit=112725 miss=1875) ----

Hi,

I have just installed ubuntu 9.10 final and added my laptop to ubuntu one. At first it told me that there is a capability mismatch between server and client and that my client was too new. It advised to wait until the servers ubuntu side are updated.

Then after my laptop because I connected it to my docking station (which is another problem that has no place here) I had to kill it by pressing the power button until the laptop went off. After booting up I now have exactly the same exception messages like Andrea:

schaze@neptune:~/.cache/ubuntuone/log$ more syncdaemon-exceptions.log.2009-10-29_16-50-12

Update:
I have changed the ubuntuone.client.conf and set connected manually to False.
Now I get the nice notification popup again telling me to wait until the ubuntu one servers are upated.

@Andrea: maybe you can try changing this too. Perhaps it will then show you a meaningful error message.

The "Capabilities Mismatch" popup that you describe is a known issue that we're working to resolve. If you're using the beta PPA, you can run Update Manager and get the fix. Non-beta PPA users will have the fix soon. Follow bug 462828 or our blog (http://one.ubuntu.com/blog/) for further updates.

Thanks for the update Matt. I have found the bug and updated with the proposed updates which fixed it.
Unfortunately it started crashing and 'not connecting' again as since the very first version I tried beginning of the year. So installed everything 'ubuntuone' related completely.
Probably have to wait another year or two until this app gets near to usable...

No problem schaze. Sorry it's causing problems. We would be happy to chat about it with you in #ubuntuone on freenode to see if we can figure out the solution.

Since I had an early UbuntuOne client from Karmic Beta, I frequently upgraded it till today. In the meantime something did changed in .conf files and I didn't noticed it. Today I've deleted ~/.config/ubuntuone directory and that works for me.

At least!!

Deleting that folder is the solution, but it's a bug that needs to be solved to general public.
