ipw3945: 1.0.3 update leads to sporadic association

Bug Description

This just started from the -23 update, presumably caused by 1.0.3....

Either way, once in a while ipw3945 would associate to an AP, everything reporting it associated (iwconfig shows AP MAC, proper signal/noise levels, etc), but no traffic flows through. Dhclient/network-manager cannot get IP's, and even if I assign it a manual IP there is no network traffic flowing.

Recovering from this is a very random process... bringing the interface up/down, re-assigning the MAC, even sometimes having to reboot (and that doesn't always guarantee results)

I too am noticing this problem. There doesn't seem to be any reproducable pattern to the problem. A reboot seems to clear the problem for a while.

This behavour was not noted with 2.6.15-22 and manually compiled ieee-80211 v1.1.3 and the ipw3945 version 1.0.3.

Compiling and replacing 1.0.3 with upstream 1.0.5 release resolves this issue for me.

Me too. I've been connected all day, driving the connection hard and no
disconnects. Oh and thanks for the update on the ATI drivers, I just
installed them here.

Marking this as fix released based on commentators having gotten it working on based on bug #63418.
