Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus won't let me browse remote ftp sites, even though I am connected to the internet. I have tried a variety of ftp sites, but to no avail. All other internet connectivity on my system works fine.

I connect to the internet using a standard serial modem and the wvdial PPP dialer.

Thanks for your bug. Does "nautilus ftp://ftp.gnome.org" works fine? Does "gnomevfs-ls ftp://ftp.gnome.org" works fine?

It works now. Nautilus certainly does recognise my Internet connection. You can close the bug.

I think it was more of a user-interface issue. I remember trying to access some FTP sites, and Nautilus would not play along. These FTP sites are always available and well-known in South Africa (e.g. ftp.is.co.za). Anyway...

cheers
