Doesn't boot to X

Bug Description

I just recently upgrade from 5.10 to 6.06 (beta) by changing the lines to dapper in my /etc/apt/sources.list and doing an apt-upgrade. I had some problems (see previous bugs) but now it boots.

When all the boot scripts have run, the screen flickers, shows the nvidia logo (since I have the nvidia proprietary drivers), and then jumps back to the boot image with an [ok] in the bottom right corner. The ubuntu sound plays (the one when gdm has loaded), but it only shows the brown console screen with the ubuntu logo and [ok] in the bottom right corner.

I pressed Ctrl + Alt + F7 and I can get to gdm, but I don't think other users will know to do this.
