Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmail

kmail starts, but does not show up due to the following error messages:

QGArray::at: Absolute index 892849708 out of range
QGArray::at: Absolute index 892849712 out of range
QGArray::at: Absolute index 892849716 out of range
QGArray::at: Absolute index 892849720 out of range

QGArray::at: Absolute index 892849728 out of range
QGArray::at: Absolute index 892849732 out of range

Counting up for at least a minute but I suspect for even longer, much longer!

To try to narrow the bug definition, can you try with another account/login?

seems like the true reason for this problem was related to the fact that my ext3 partition was 98% full and somehow that made some of my mail folders go bye-bye. BAD enough! Don't know who to blame here, ext3 or kmail or a combination of both.

However, I am pretty sure I will go with XFS in the future!

Now, we have two problems. First one is to determine how kmail reaches this state (which could lead to another bug report). Second one, which is of more interest for you, is how you can recover your data! A quick look into google (kmail qgarray) gives some tracks to follow, first one is in German, which I guess you speak better than me.
Please have a look and come back.

The problem is, the folders are simply gone! Therefore kmail does not find the
indices.

I think we can "close" this bug. Maybe you'd want to create a new one with the 98% full ext3 partition not handled correctly by kmail but I believe it will be hard to reproduce. By googling a bit, it seems to be not so frequent (hopefully).
