Gtranslator can't compile PO files

Bug Description

After I try to compile ANY files I get error without description.
Only info in header "Error during execution msgfmt".
But manual compilation in terminal is OK.

Yep, I confirm. There is a problem with a compilation of *.po files.

When I work with a *.po file, for example, gnome-panel-2.0-ru.po, that I got right there https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/gnome-panel/+pots/gnome-panel-2.0/ru/+export I can load/edit it in gtranslator. But compilation gives error mentioned above. Although, the file with compiled strings seems being produced under the name ~/gnome-panel.HEAD.ru.gmo regardless of folder where the original file was loaded from.

I did not check whether that *.gmo works correctly.

If this bug still happen with newer ubuntu release, please re-open it!
