Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.15

I have a Wireless PCI Adapter Netgear WG311v2 and in previous Ubuntu release seems to work.. now in Dapper it doesn't work correctly.

The default firmware of module acx loaded is 2.3.1.31

acx111 PCI 0.1.0.11
acx111 PCI 0.4.11.4
acx111 PCI 0.4.11.9
acx111 PCI 1.2.0.30
acx111 PCI 2.3.1.31 (default)

But it doesn't work... so I tried to change it and to fix the problem!

# rmmod acx
# modprobe acx firmware_ver=1.2.0.30

# cd /lib/firmware/2.6.15-23-686/acx/default$

/lib/firmware/2.6.15-23-686/acx/default# ln -s ../1.2.0.30/tiacx111c16

and great! It's seems to work!

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this linux-source-2.6.15 kernel bug to the new "linux" package. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Also, if you would be interested in testing the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release, it is available at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Please let us know your results. Thanks!
