Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunar

Sometime when extracting an archive file, the folder created appear for a second and vanish. You have to press «reload» to show it again.

From my various tests, it seems to happen when the name of the folder is the same as the archive name (without the extension). eg : extracting webkit-1.1.16.tar.gz to webkit-1.1.6 doesn't work, webkit_1.1.16.orig.tar.gz to webkit-1.1.6 work.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. I tried to reproduce using Thunar in Xubuntu 9.10 and was not able to. Perhaps it has been fixed? Thanks in advance.

You're right, the exact bug cannot be reproduce anymore.
I still have «vanishing» folders when copying but it's less reproductible.

Thank you for the quick response. I am marking this bug invalid, since we don't know what fixed it. It doesn't mean the bug wasn't real, just that it is fixed and we don't know what fixed it. If the vanishing folders becomes reproducible, please file a bug on it. Thanks again.

I have the same bug, and I think it comes from refreshing. If you extract a file or folder, it disappears, but if you press F5 it comes back. However, I don't know where the problem comes from exactly
