If you have the sl-modem-daemon package installed, I suggest you remove it, as its likely blocking the sound hardware. This bug is known, and a fix is being worked out upstrea.

Skype and PulseAudio are competing for the audio device:

/dev/snd/controlC1: monika 1734 F.... pulseaudio
 /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: monika 2413 F...m skype.real

You should probably use the Skype 2.1 beta with native PulseAudio support.
