Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image-
Hardware: Compaq Evo N600c (Laptop)
Ubuntu: Dapper Drake LTS (up-to-date)
With kernel 2.6.15-22-686 all is ok. With kernel 2.6.15-23-686 the system freezes when an application (Frozen Bubble, ScummVM, PyDance...) changes to fullscreen. In the screen all is abstract, an amount of pixels without reason, a pattern in diagonals.
Nothing to do with the system. No signal from keyboard (incl. leds), no acpi functions (power button, etc...).
Tested with kernel: 2.6.15-22-686 (ok), 2.6.15-23-686 (error) in all combinations with:
X manager: Gnome, KDE, Xfce4
X drivers: ati, radeon
How to reproduce (in ex.):
- Start X windows system
- Start PyDance and Press F11
Critical. Some patch in the kernel is dangerous.
Same critical result with kernel 2.6.15-25-686
Running in fullscreen an application in other resolution freezes the system. No text-mode tty, no acpi buttons (power, suspend), nothing with ctrl+alt+del, nothing in the keyoard leds.
