Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.15

When downloading linux-source-2.6.15_2.6.15-23.39.diff.gz, it's impossible to pick out single patches, because they are not separated. Please, use a mechanism like the one in the Debian Kernels. They have a debian/patches directory, which contains single patches.

Ubuntu has taken a whole new direction with it's kernel development model. We are syncing everything in a publicly available git tree. This means that there are really no seperate patches, but that doesn't mean you can't single out changesets with git, if you need to.

Previous to dapper, we used the debian/patches/ mechanism, which at that point was the "standard" debian way to handle this. It has become way to cumbersome for our needs, and is really an overhead on maintaining the kernel package.
