Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Steps to reproduce the error:
- Insert CD into drive either before starting rhythmbox or after, it does not matter.
- Start playing tracks in any order, I just pressed play after inserting the disk.
- Press eject button in Rhythmbox during playback

Expected behavior:
- In earlier versions, the disk popped out of the drive and Rhythmbox changed back to the regular music section.

Behavior observed:
- The disk is ejected as I expected it to be,
- Then, after freezing for a few seconds, I get a message like "Could not pause playback" (I found that in a translation file, I use Ubuntu in the german language,)
- Regular playlist does not respond and every song I click results in a stop-sign in the first column, that seems to say "could not play this song",
- When closing rhythmbox I again get the same error message "Could not pause playback",
- After starting rhythmbox anew, everything is back to normal.

- Problems do not occur if you stop/pause playback before ejecting.

Running rhythmbox from commandline issues, among various assertion errors, this one:

scsi_read error: sector=750 length=27 retry=0
                 Sense key: 2 ASC: 3a ASCQ: 0
                 Transport error: Device not ready
                 System error: No medium found

Hope this helps,
Simon.

Thanks for the report Simon, could you run rhythmbox as: rhythmbox --debug &> rhythmbox-debug.txt ; perform the operation to reproduce the bug and attach that resulting file to the report? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I hadn't thought about translation issues!

I found this error in the translation files as 'Unable to start playback pipeline', but I will try and run rhythmbox in english to confirm this!

Clicking System -> Administration -> Language Support I switched to English (United States), leaving my folder names unchanged when Ubuntu asked me whether I wanted them changed. I then ran rhythmbox in debug mode, and I hope that aside from some German folder names and playlist names the output is now more useful!

I cannot reproduce the bug in Ubuntu 10.04, on pressing the eject button the program hops back to the regular music playlist.

Thanks folks!
