Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome

Run two X servers on the same machine by adding the following line in the gdm.conf:

[servers]
0=Standard
1=Standard

Run first session GNOME in the VT7 (by default) and try to run on the VT8 an other GNOME session (with an *other* user than on VT7).

You have strange behaviour from that. The main error you can extract is the approximative error message:

"gnome-panel already running: can't run an other one"

If I check, the only gnome-panel program running is the one of the user of the VT7 session.

I was able to run this config (two X servers with two GNOME sessions with two different users) in the previous Ubuntu version (breezy).

Current version: Dapper. Upgrade from 5.10 and 5.04).
Test on AMD64 and Matrox G550

Does this problem still exist in edgy?

No further information for a month + bug is older than half a year -> I consider it fixed in Edgy Eft. If it is not, please report.
