Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Hello

Yesterday I downloaded an mp3 file from my local church and listened to it in Totem, I tried to forward in the mp3 file but could not, when I forwarded Totem just played the mp3 from the beginning, all over again.

The mp3 file can be downloaded here:
http://www.valgmenighed.dk/getfile.php?id=93

Beware it is in Danish.

Thanks for your bug report. Which version of totem and Ubuntu do you use? Do you use totem-gstreamer or totem-xine? Do you get any output if you start totem from the terminal?

Ubuntu Dapper final release.

$ totem --version
Gnome totem 1.4.1

ii totem-xine 1.4.1-0ubuntu4

I'm not getting any output when I start totem from the terminal.

does it work with totem-gstreamer (you need gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly installed)?

I can confirm this behaviour on the latest Edgy using totem-xine and libxine-extracodecs. The scroll bar moves forward and the time is advanced bit the actual playing returns to the very beginning. It works fine with other mp3s.

I think they're the same files although I'm not sure...
I'll test this in Gutsy soon...

is this still an issue with 8.10 or later?

since the file referenced in the description is no longer accesible, I cannot verify this myself. at least with my local mp3 files i cannot reproduce this.

if the problem still persists, please reopen this bug with an example mp3 file that demonstrates this bug.
