Bug Description

Create Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic and Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy AMIs on EC2 using the new "boot from EBS" feature Amazon just released. They should be published in all existing EC2 regions (us-east-1, us-west-1, eu-west-1, ...)

Let me know if you need pointers on how to create EBS boot AMIs.

I would greatly appreciate if Canonical would make "EBS boot" AMIs available.

We do expect to have this for lucid.

Beta1 will (today) release with EBS root images.
Daily EBS root images are available for lucid. See the daily build directories under http://uec-images.ubuntu.com/lucid/ for lists of amis.
