Bug Description

The python-cheetah package is based on cheetah 2.0.1 which is now over 2years old. Version 2.4 was recently released which in combination with the earlier releases fixes a number of bugs, improves performance as well as adding a number of new features. For full details of the changes see http://www.cheetahtemplate.org/docs/CHANGES

Would it be possible to upgrade the ubuntu package to a more recent version.

Thanks

The new versions really do a lot to make utf-8 work well with cheetah (without a lot of fiddling). Updating this would be good for everyone.

Please update this.

Hi John,

We're in the process of upgrading cheetah to 2.4.3 right now. You can track the progress in bug #663343. In fact the newer upstream was already uploaded into natty, though a number of fixes are needed to make it behave properly given the addition of python 2.7.

Marking as Fix Released, since 2.4.3 is in natty.
