depmod -ae isn't run on user built install

Bug Description

Compiling my own kernel from ubuntu sources, with nvidia-kernel-source unpacked in /usr/src/modules produces nvidia-kernel deb, but installing it fails to run depmod. Hence, on next boot, module nvidia fails to load.

Manually running depmod -ae resolves this.

Didn't see this was restricted-modules (had the link sent to me). It is actually nvidia-kernels-source, and thus resulting packages. Is it possible to move bugs, and would someone be kind enough to do it?

Hi Jérôme,

Actually, I wouldn't know, as I have switched to install nVidia drivers via nVidia's own install packages. Sorry.
